Harish’s career growth at nVent showcases hard work, dedication and curiosity for trying new things. He works in Bangalore, India as a project manager – key account and transfer for our Enclosures business segment. Beginning in 2009, he has been on a transformative 15-year adventure where he has been able to learn and benefit from a variety of experiences.

“I started my career with Pentair, now known as nVent, as a production engineer,” Harish recalls. Over the years, he has been afforded many opportunities to continue learning and adapting, all while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of a busy manufacturing facility. “I have held many roles like planning, paint line, manufacturing engineering, estimation, design and engineering, lean, industrial engineering, and maintenance functions.

Harish’s journey is not only about career progression, but it is also reflective of our business practices. “nVent has a very good business strategy,” he notes. “Our culture is built on respect and team work.” These elements have been pivotal in his growth through various roles, and one of the many reasons he encourages others to consider joining our team.

One of the defining moments in Harish’s career came around 2016 when he took on the responsibility of heading the engineering function. “During that time frame, I partnered with many customers to provide engineering-based solutions and set many good processes inside the function to support customer demand,” he explains. His efforts didn’t go unnoticed, as members from the nVent HOFFMAN leadership team recognized and awarded him for performance and accountability in the following year.

2020 marked another significant shift for Harish as he moved into project management, where he currently serves. “I took the lead on developing the cabinet integration capability for the nVent SCHROFF product line, mainly to focus on the railway and aerospace application market,” he elaborates. The team quickly delivered positive results and is still proving to be valuable. Harish shares, “I’m happy that now, within a span of only two years, we are managing an annual business of more than $2 million.”

Harish enjoys sharing what he has learned with others. “Don’t work only for salary, be satisfied first yourself rather than satisfying others,” says Harish. “Set a goal in your career where you want to be in the next five years and don’t miss the opportunity to learn continuously.”
